The role your consultant plays will vary according to individual needs, but in general our process is as follows:

1. Contacting Us

We ask that prospective clients first complete our online contact form or call and leave a voicemail so that a member of our intake team can quickly assess the nature of your inquiry, reach back to you for clarifying information if necessary, and provide a brief overview of our services and fees. Assuming this information aligns with your needs, you will be connected to one of our team members for a complimentary conversation to learn more about your child, your family and your goals, to outline potential next steps, and to answer any initial questions you may have. Each situation is unique, and each service area has its own structure and rationale which we will explain during this call. Our hope is that, following this introductory exchange, you will move forward with our services.

2. Getting Underway

At this point, arrangements will be made for an initial meeting, preferably in person or by zoom. Either before or after this first meeting, we ask that you share relevant paperwork such as testing, individual learning plans and/or academic or medical records. It’s often helpful to speak with other important professionals to learn more about your child and to gather additional history and perspective. Typically, these calls take place after this meeting.

Once we have gathered essential information and perspectives from a variety of sources, including from you and your child, we expect to have greater clarity about the nature of your needs, and it may be appropriate to share initial thoughts about schools, programs or other resources. For families who are looking at day and boarding schools or at therapeutic programs, our services may also include canvassing prospective options to assess for admissibility and fit before connecting you to admissions representatives who will answer questions and arrange for further interactions or visits.

3. Exploring, Applying And Deciding

As you explore options, we encourage you to share your thoughts and questions as they arise. We will be responsive and candid, and we urge you to be forthcoming and engaged. Though we cannot complete applications on your behalf, we are engaged and supportive in helping with the application process, including providing input regarding personal essays, interviews and visits. Ultimately you must make your own thoughtful and informed decisions. We want you to value our partnership and feel good about the experience of working with our team.

  • “I should start with saying thank you (again)! T Academy was a terrific place for E, and we so appreciate your expertise and thoughtfulness about finding the right fit. He has yet to acknowledge that therapeutic boarding school was the right step from wilderness – but it so clearly was. E’s work really shows! He has a whole new tool kit, including new skills engaging with adults and peers, his understanding of and ability to manage his own emotional states, and renewed interest in learning and his future. He is still absolutely a surly teenager – but I think he has new appreciation for the spaces, support, and opportunities he has here.”
